SUMMARY OF CLINICAL ACTIVITIES

Regularly, at the beginning of the appointments, I go over each clients medical history with them.
After doing Extra and Intra Oral Examination, I review their oral hygiene based on their needs,
thus I develop my ability to interact with clients in different age groups and cultures smoothly. At
every appointment I access the periodontal condition furthering my skill to assess clients
circumstances and develop appropriate treatment plan accordingly. Daily, I administer local
anesthesia for clients with SRP and Root planning after taking their blood pressure and irrigate the
pockets with chemotherapeutic agents. Besides my ability to use a cavitron and hand instruments
in a timely and efficient manner, Im also able to apply sealant and take PAs and Bitewings X-Rays
based on the clients needs.

TEACHING NARRATIVE
I taught my classmates how to recognize diabetes I and II by being aware of the signs and symptoms of each
one, and to be able to help the client during an emergency situation. I also taught them about different stages
of HIV and various medications for AIDS. Furthermore, I demonstrated how to give oral hygiene instruction
to clients with physical disabilities such as arthritis. Lastly, I taught my classmates how to reach out to their
community to educate people regarding their oral hygiene and its relationship with their overall heath.
Regarding The Truth About Leadership, I presented to my classmates that what an exemplary leader does,
should be done from her/his bottom of heart, with love and passion about the subjects; she/he should believe
and trust the people and shows the appreciation to whoever has done something for the group/company and
gives her/him credit. By Fierce Conversation I taught how we can lead and manage a challenging
conversation to achieve a productive ending; by discussing directly, openly and clearly.

RESEARCH AND CREATIVE ACTIVITIES

UCSF, DR. Rowe 3/12/2015-present
For obtaining a Master Degree in Dental Hygiene Program at UCSF, Ive cultivated a research study,
which will benefit parents and guardian of children with asthma, who uses inhalers and/or syrups as
asthma medications. It will help to show that oral health specialists should take responsibility to properly
inform parents of the oral side effects of asthma medications.
