One of the acute upper respiratory infection is tonsillitis. Tonsilitis often spreads to adenoid (adenotonsilitis). Medication pattern is very crucial to prevent another reinfection and to prevent drugs resistance. Objective. To know the drugs regimens that have been used to acute adenotonsilitis treatment Method. This is a descriptive study, using survey method that is analyzing therapy data that has been recorded in patient medical records. approximately 192 drugs prescribed and with mean of 2,4 drugs per case. The 4 most prescribed drugs are 85 antimicrobial drugs (85%), 63 antihistamin drugs (63%), 30 antipiretic and analgesic drugs (14%), and cough drugs 15 %.It has been found that Amoxicilin is largely used antimicrobacterial drugs. Antimicrobial empirical treatment without culture of causing organism is 5 days treatment. From this study, also been found that the doses for majority of the patients were not explains. Conclusion. The treatments for acute adenotonsilitis are antimicrobial and symptomatic drugs. The hospital must pay attention for regimentation patterns especially using antimicrobial drugs to minimalize resistance for the better therapy.
