To Whom It May Concern:
I gladly write this letter of recommendation for Anthony Lewis for his numerous accomplishments
while working as Administrative Intern during the 2014-2015 school year. I had the distinct
pleasure of working alongside Mr. Lewis as he served as intern between two high-needs, largescale elementary buildings in the Chippewa Valley School District.
Over the past 10 months, Anthony not only juggled the challenges and demands necessary to be
an effective building administrator, he exceeded expectations. Even though Mr. Lewis was
responsible for two separate buildings, he developed strong relationships with both sets of staff,
students and communities. At all times, Anthony displayed compassion, fairness and
understanding. His extensive organizational skills allowed Anthony to move between his various
positions easily and successfully. From my experience, most interns focus on completing various
projects and tasks to build a resume; however, Anthony truly became engulfed in the culture of
the buildings and dedicated himself to student growth and staff development.
Anthonys passion for education is matched with a strong understanding of technology,
curriculum and assessment. Mr. Lewis helped develop professional learning and trained teachers
throughout the district in Office 365, NWEA data analysis, MStep requirements, and the Caf/Daily
Five model. Anthony was equally focused on student academic and social development. He
planned school-wide events and afterschool opportunities such as bringing the Brainstormers
Assembly program to our schools and scheduling an afterschool Detroit Lions camp. Mr. Lewis
also volunteered as Cherokees Lego Robotics Coach, organized our district-wide Lego
competition and worked as assistant coach for one of our high schools baseball teams.
Mr. Lewis has consistently gone above and beyond what is required of his intern position. We
are very fortunate to have Anthony work with the staff, students and families of Cherokee
Elementary. I am confident that Mr. Lewis will be a highly effective administrator in the future.
If I can be of further assistance, please contact me at 586-723-4802.
Sincerely,
Lynn Mair
Principal
