COMMUNICATION
Contact Information
Communication is very important between a teacher and parent. I want to keep an open
communication with all of my students parents. If you have any questions or concerns please
contact me! I cannot encourage this enough! It is your right to contact our Administration as
desired, however if problems arise please contact me with any problems first. You can contact
me by any of the means below.

BEHAVIOR
Behavior: As stated on the first page, my job is to teach and the job of each student is to learn.
Any behavior that does not contribute to the expected atmosphere of the class is disruptive.
EVERY STUDENT HAS A RIGHT TO LEARN, the misbehavior of any student that causes a
disruption in learning for others violates the other students right to learn and will not be
tolerated. Items below outline how our classroom will operate.

Verbal Warning
Warning & Documentation (Infraction Notice)
Action Plan, Parental Contact, and Loss of Privileges (Break, etc.)
Discipline Referral
Severe Clause
Any Student who uses profanity, fights, damages school property (this includes property of the
teacher and the other students), or disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) will receive an office
referral immediately.
Infraction Notices
Students will receive an Infraction Notice if attempts at redirection have failed. Students will be
notified of what exactly the offense is, and will have a conference me. They will sign the notice,
and it will be put in their Student Data File for documentation.
Action Plan
If the offense continues students will receive an Action Plan. I will state the problem and the
student will list the factors causing the problem. The student will then take the Action Plan home.
2
At home you and your child should talk about a plan to solve the problem and record it on the
action plan. Make sure the plan is signed and returned the next school day. Not returning the
plan the next school day will result in an office referral.
Discipline Referral
If the previous attempts to correct the misbehavior fail, the student will receive an office referral.
The administration will use the Code of Conduct to handle the situation. Too many office
referrals will result in loss of field trip privileges, ISS, OSS, suspension, or expulsion.
GRADES
Grading Scale
90-100 = A
8089 = B
70-79 = C
60-69 = D
0-59 = F
Grade Weights
60% Assessments (Tests)
40% Assignments (Daily Grades)
I do not round up grades. If a student has an 89 B when it is time to submit grades, the grade
will remain an 89 B.
I do not provide extra credit for particular students. Extra credit opportunities may arise at my
discretion, but they will be available for all students, not just one.
If a student talks during an assessment they will receive a zero. I take assessments extremely
seriously and will not tolerate any sort of misbehavior during tests. Every student has a right to a
fair testing environment and I will not compromise that.
Due Dates/Deadlines
Homework, unless otherwise stated, is due the very day after assignment, in completion. A
student without their homework will be allowed to turn in their work up to five school days late. If
an absence is without just cause, as determined by the teacher, each day an assignment is late
will result in the deduction of ten points. Any assignments not submitted within five days of
being assigned will result in a zero in the gradebook. It is the students responsibility to show up
to take any test or missing assignments, I will not hunt them down; they are old enough to be
responsible for their grades.
ATTENDANCE
Students are expected to be at school on time every day. Attendance directly effects learning.
Nothing (not worksheets, make up work, etc.) can replace being present during a lesson with
the teacher and other students. Missing school days leads to a struggling student who is trying to
play catch up. It is extremely difficult to catch up, especially after missing numerous days.
