Using the PACE Academy School Improvement Plan, identify two student growth
improvement goals.

1. All PACE Academy students will be proficient in mathematics.

2. All PACE Academy students will be proficient in reading and writing.

Based on your self-assessment, your administrators input and any school initiative,
identify two professional development goals for yourself that will assist in meeting
the goals set for student growth.
I will attend professional development sessions, and do personal studying on
integrating math, as well as integrating reading and literature into the music
classroom. Sessions on reading in the content area will be helpful, as well.

What will success of these goals look like? How will you know when you have
achieved them? What would count as evidence of success?
Student success will be demonstrated in the music classroom and the core content
area classroom. Students in all grade levels will be able to read (orally and silently)
materials based on music content and show understanding by writing and by
speaking. Students will read and use given vocabulary words.
I will know students have achieved their goals by the use of oral and written
assessments.
Students will show success in mathematics by being able to apply age appropriate
principal when looking at the relationship of the notes. For example a 1st grade
student would have to be able to identify the number of sounds to a beat, note,and
measure. Fourth grade students will be able to show the understanding of fractions
by explaining how the names of the notes work with relation to the number of beats
it receives. Middle school students would show understanding of adding, subtracting,
multiplying and dividing with fractions, as we use music math manipulating the
known music notes. (For example a quarter note X a whole note =.)
