GENERAL NOTES/ISSUES/CONCERNS
Over 320 total student enrollment. Block schedule 90min.

Currently there are 32 computers in the computer lab. There is a daily PLATO class with approx. 30 students
participating. Ms. Creque will need to consult with the principal and other related staff to facilitate scheduling the
remaining 7th and 8th graders for Common Core testing and prescriptive work in PLE Courseware.
CREATE COMMON CORE PREP CLASSES AND ASSIGNMENTS
1. Common Core Prep Classes and assignments must be created for all 7 th and 8th grade students. Consider
place a training learner (possibly the PLATO Linker as a student) in the class until the annual District Batch
Enroll is completed. This will allow you to assign the Common Core ELA and Math Test series (Test 1, 2, & 3)
for each class.
2. When creating the Common Core assignments, make sure that the answers to the 3 Set Assignment Policies
questions are YES, YES, and NO.
3. The actual Learners can then be added to their applicable classes after the annual student upload is
complete. They will then get the assignments automatically.
WEEKLY TIME ON TASK
Students should be provided with at least 60 min per week, via a computer lab or classroom computer, to work on
both their ELA and Math COMMON CORE prescriptive assignments (60 min to divide between both, ex. 30min (math)
and 30min (ELA)). Students should also be encouraged to work as much as possible above and beyond this
minimum weekly requirement by either spending additional time in courseware at school or away from school, if
time and computer/internet access allows it.
NEXT STEPS
1. The PLATO Linker should populate each Common Core Prep class (PLE Add Existing Users or Create New
Learners). Once the students are added/created in the classes, they will then get the assignments
automatically.
2. Prior to 10/17/2014, please provide the Principals guidance on goals in the Outcomes section above.
**AFTER STUDENTS HAVE COMPLETED AN INITIAL COMMON CORE ELA OR MATH ASSESSMENT (TEST 1, 2, OR 3),
THEY CAN BEGIN WORK IMMEDIATELY IN THEIR PRESCRIPTIVE MODULES BOTH AT AND AWAY FROM SCHOOL!
