Unit Objectives
Explain how the assessment data were used to inform your planning and instructional decisions:
The assessment methods that I chose to use in my unit plan came directly from my instructional decisions.
First off, the reason why I want to have students assess each other in the psychomotor domain is because
that gives me a chance to focus on more students and to give more solid feedback. Of course there will have
to be some time spent on teaching the students how to appropriately assess each other, but once that is
done it will give the teacher time to give individual feedback verbally. To assess the cognitive domain though,
the teacher will hand out a quiz that the students will take home with them and bring back for the next class.
The quiz is going to be centered on the questions asked during the questioning part of each lesson. This is
an efficient way of checking their understanding and knowledge of the information from each lesson. As far
as assessing the affective domain my decision was to try and keep it simple. A checklist will be made up prior
to class and a select few students will be observed by the teacher. Some items that is found on the checklist
are: being on time to class, works well with others, knowing their role for the lesson, or wearing the
appropriate attire. I wanted to keep it simple so the time spent with students can be maximized. Lastly, I want
to incorporate a technology in my class and I feel a great way to do that is to have the students wear
pedometers. This will assess the students in the health related fitness domain, their target is to reach a 40%
activity level. 40% is the target but if they can reach a higher percentage that would be great and beneficial
to them.
