When binding off at the beginning of rows, one stitch will remain on the right needle. Do not include this stitch in the counts given for the stitches that follow in that row. Pattern Notes Back Bay is a large, rectangular, fringed wrap adorned with a combination of cables and lace. It is knitted in one piece with the edgings worked concurrently with the body. Fringe is added to eyelets at each end. Back Bay can be dressed up or down. Worn around the neck as a large scarf and paired with jeans and boots, it takes on a casual air. Draped around the shoulders as a shawl, it is elegant enough for a special evening out. Berocco Ultra Alpaca is at once drapey and warm. Any worsted weight yarn may be used, but be sure to work it at a gauge that gives the shawl the desired drape. Should you use another yarn ou will need approximately 1290 yds /1180m. The shawl is shaped with 4 yarn over increases on each right side row. These increases are located at the following places: after the first 3 sts, before the center st, after the center st and before the last 3 sts. Any provisional cast on may be used for this shawl. Pattern Notes A simple but elegant shawl, Granary begins with a basic stock- inette body and finishes with a delicate lace border. Together, the leaf motif and the rich, golden brown dye of The Plucky Knitter yarn evoke the drying crops stored in the granaries of colonial Boston. Should you use another yarn, consider a fingering weight yarn that will provide a nice, drapey fabric at 3.5 stitches and 7.5 rows per inch. Be sure to block your swatch. You will need ap- proximately 385 (500, 625) yd / 351 (457, 572)m. Notions: Stitch markers; cable needle; darning needle. Pattern Notes Lexington is a rustic, cabled pullover with a classic look. The garment features a prominent center cable panel framed by 2x2 rib and carefully tapered sleeves. Gentle, hourglass shaping is worked at the sides to produce a customizable fit flattering most shapes. The side and sleeve ribs lengthen and slim the body, creating a streamlined look. The body is knitted back and forth and the sleeves are knitted in the round to the armholes; the pieces are seamed together after blocking, and the collar is picked up along the neck and worked in the round. Knitted in Berroco Blackstone Tweed, an incredibly light wor- sted yarn, the finished project retains a classic feel without the bulk and weight expected of an aran-styled garment. Because the entire piece is extensively ribbed, for proper fit, it is abso- lutely essential to block individual pieces to measurements. Should you desire to use another yarn, consider a lofty worsted yarn that will work up at 5.5 stitches and 5.75 rows per inch. Trim edgings in woven herring- bone stitch with slit hems and smooth sleeve caps keep this design fresh and wearable. The body is worked back and forth in pieces at the hem, then joined and knitted in the round to the armholes; the piece is then divided once more for front and back. The collar is picked up and worked in herringbone stitch; the sleeve caps are picked up around the armhole and worked with short rows before continuing down to the wrist. Vertical waist darts give the sweater an easily-customized and figure- flattering shape. The Woolen Rabbit Lark is a glorious blend of alpaca, silk, and cashmere with an astonishing depth of color. Should you desire to use another yarn, please make sure it produces a drapey fabric with good body at 7 stitches and 10 rows to the inch. You will need approximately 1048 (1144, 1238, 1317, 1426, 1509, 1597, 1732, 1903, 2078) yds / 959 (1047, 1133, 1205, 1306, 1381, 1462, 1585, 1742, 1902)m.
