1. Looking at the image, the LIGHT and the VALUES of the urn are balanced by the dark door located in the upper
right corner. What is the second most prominent feature in the photograph?
I think that the second most important feature or element in this photography is line because throughout the
photograph, there are many different types of lines that leads the audiences eyes around the image.
2. Describe the SHAPES and LINES that you see (use your Elements chart):
I dont see as much shapes in this photography. I could see these think large rectangles in the back along
with circular shapes. I see a lot of lines throughout the photograph. There are horizontal lines all over the place, in
the middle, down lower at the bottom and up high in the back of the photograph. There are also vertical lines on the
upper part of the photograph as well. And there are curved lines leading towards the main focus point.
3. What TEXTURES are present in the photograph (use your Elements chart)?
There are rough, hard, and bumpy textures along the brighter/lighter objects and with the door in the back, it
looks like it could also be bumpy but smooth.
4. Consider VALUE, how much of the photograph is light, how much is dark?
Light: 75%
Dark: 25%
5. Is the mood of this composition energetic or calm?
Use evidence to explain your answer:
Calm because the colors are really dull. The different shades of the gray within the photograph
shows that it is calm within the photograph. The photograph is also not as busy. Everything is kind of in
unity so everything fits and looks calm.
6. How do the SHAPES and VALUES contribute to the MOOD of the image?

The value can express emotions. For example, red makes you feel warm, while
blue makes you feel cool. So then the different shades of the black to white makes you
feel like everything is calm. And shapes could also determine how you feel by like how
sharp the shape looks and how smooth the shapes look like. For example, if you see a
triangle, it makes you feel like the photograph has a sharp nice look, making it like more
energetic, while if you see like circles, it makes everything flow well together and so it
has that soft/calm look.
