2. Business Rational
The business (My Event) basically provides thoughtful events and parties for those
who need it. It aims to create unforgettable moments for special occasions. the
planning include music, stages, hostesses, food, photography, and other services
depend on the type of the events. For example, birthday parties are provided with a
clown and Christmas parties are provided with a decorated tree. The business has
reasonable prices which makes it suitable for both genders and all ages. However,
the main audience of the business are females between 17-26 because the ideas of
the events are more suitable for teenagers and young people. Besides, most parties
and events are attended by females in Bahrain such as wedding and birthday
parties. Moreover, My Event has events specific for each season. There are events
for spring breaks such as camping. Also, there are events for Ramadhan such as the
traditional Ghabga and Gergaoon. These traditional events are very successful
and attended by all Bahrainis. We believe that this business could be very
successful because there is a lot of events in Bahrain yet there is no event planning
organizations.
SWOT Analysis
SWOT is an acronym which stands for (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and
Threats). It is a business analysing method that helps the business owner with the
decisions making. This method helped us decide whether the business is successful
or not. Below is the SWOT analysis of My Event business.
Strengths:
Among all the strength and advantages of the business, exclusivity is the biggest
one. As mentioned before there is no other event planning in Bahrain that plans all
kind of events. There are some businesses but they plan specific events such as
marriage. This strength is important because for the moment we do not have to
worry about competition. Another important strength is the age of the owners. My
Event owners are young which make them more modern, motivated, and creative
than others. Also, Bahrain is a country that has a lot of foreign people and different
cultures which means more cultural events. Time is also one of the strengths
because sometimes people do not have time between work and family which force
them to hire organizations to do their job and in this case they use My Event to plan
their parties.
Weaknesses:
Unfortunately, our business may also face some weaknesses. The lack of experience
is the main weakness in our business. People nowadays sometimes prefer those
who have experience and in My Event the owners lack experience in planning
parties and celebrations. Another internal weakness the business may face is the
availability of the planners (the owners). The planners are still in college and they
might not be available for some occasions because of their studies.
Opportunities:
Our project has many opportunities and areas that can be developed now and in the
future. First, the business could expand to all Gulf countries by hiring people in
these countries. Another opportunity is expanding our criteria to plan sport events
which could gain us money and popularity. Organizing charity events is also one of
advantages that could make the project closer to the society. Last but not least,
locals tend to support businesses which are owned by young Bahrainis and we could
use this to gain their confidence and support.
Threats:
Bahrain is a very small country and there is an old say in Bahrain that says if you
want to be famous, fail. In other words, if we fail to please one customer and this
customer told others about his/her experience with My Event planning the
reputation of the business could be highly affected. This means that we should
please every customer in order gain good reputation. Besides, there are many types
of events that cannot be held in specific times in Bahrain due to cultural and
religious beliefs. These threats are not as huge as their sound but they might be
challenging for the business.
Market Opportunity
As mentioned before, My Event is the only business that plans for all type of events
in Bahrain because it is the only business that works in all kind of events such as
wedding, graduation and receptions. My Event will help the customers to have their
event planed from A to Z; the customers will not have to worry about anything like
the music, food and design. Unlike other companies, our company need you to only
pay the price and forget all about the party because we handle it all. Furthermore,
the company will help the youths in Bahrain because the company hire Bahrainis
only so that they hire the unemployed youths and to profit from their energy. My
Event is unique because it will provide customer with different restaurants menu,
different designs and different themes. The price range for the company is between
250 BD and 6 thousand BD which is consider cheap comparing to other companies.
Our company have special packages for weddings that include car decorations,
Bride bouquets, special songs for the bride and the groom and photography. Also,
there are birthday packages that have clowns renting, ordering cakes and
photography. The last packages are for baby reception includes stands with the
baby name, giveaway and helium balloons.
Market Strategy
They are limited ways that My Event BH follows the event itself among the other ecommerce website.
1. Email marketing: Email is the best way to communicate with customers. My
Event uses email to actively contact with the customer.
2. Social Media: Now a day, social media is the best way to find many
customers. My Event had used social media accounts in the most social
media such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram which most of Bahraini
people use them.
3. Offer Package Review: It allows the customer to write their opinion and review
on the packages and its a great way to get customers opinion on the
website.
4. Search Engine Optimization: This method use to make it easy for the
customer to fine My Event BH website. For example: if the customer write in
Google something that related to the events so My Event BH website will
display for the customer.
Financing Requirements
Every new business would have principals that will cover every part of the initial
expenses. My Event business will need 6960 BD as an expenses amount. The
amount will cover each of the costs which the company will pay to website for
advertising, expenses and employees and etc. The table below shows the pay
statement in aspects.

Equipment:
The equipment is the biggest asset of My Event. It is worth an estimate of 4000 BD.
The equipment that My Event uses are: Cameras, chairs, tables, and stages.
Store rent:
The equipment mentioned above is stored in an air conditioned warehouse. The rent
of the warehouse is 1000 per year.
Website expenses:
The website of the business uses a domain and a logo that was designed by a
professional designer. Overall, 40 BD was paid for launching the website.
Internet fees:
Our website has an online booking service that is why we need full internet access
all the time. Our Internet Provider Batelco provides us with internet for 10 BD
monthly.
Transportation:
In order to provide a full service to our customers, we offer full transportation
service all over Bahrain. To provide this service, we allocated 30 BD per month to
cover the cost of transportation.
Employee Salary:
The employees salaries were not calculated because they are dependent on the
number of events planned monthly. For each event we will estimate the cost for
planning and preparing, and then we will charge 30% extra for our company profit.
For example: if the event costs approximately 1000BD we will charge 1300BD. The
basic amount covers the cost of all the equipment while the profit amount will be
distributed to the employees.
E-Commerce Strategy
To create a successful business, we had to set some strategies before we create our
website. We used these strategies to create good website.
Payment System:
For our website (My Event BH) we used the cash payment method, because our
business consider as small business and we still at the beginning. Also cash
payment is more secure that online payment method because handling the cash
don not involves hacking or fake accounts or any online payments threads. As well
as many of our customers will be teenagers, and the teenagers dont own a credit
cards.
Security:
Because we are using the cash payment system; the customer can be sure that the
transactions will be extremely safe because the customer will meet us for complete
the payment and confirm the reservation.
Distribution Methods:
Our services will be for Bahrain only, and because Bahrain is very small country; all
the cities are not very far from each other and we live and different cities. So we see
the customer location, and the nearest one of us will go and meet the customer.
And receive the money and complete the reservation.
Legal Issues:
Because we are in Islamic country we cant provide alcohols in the parties, also
some of the Islamic months like in Ramadan we cant make parties between the
sunrise and the sunset because this is fasting time. Also we cant make some
events in Muharam and Safar like Weddings and big and load parties because
they are grieving months.

The group depends on the internet as the first thing to collect information for the
Content Management System Evaluation (CMSE), the qualification for word press
added particular information based on our experience while working on the website.
While working on the website, we found that it is easy to use and create a new
ecommerce website. In our opinion if any new ecommerce business would like to
start, they first have to come up with a good idea. Then, they should think about all
the aspects. Later on, they should design the media and marketing strategies such
as a website, social media accounts and/or post advertisements. Because we
followed these steps, the whole process was easy on us. In additional, in our
website we did not use host website, because our business does not need plugins.
In our opinion to improve the course, the project file should be published on Moodle
earlier so that the students can have more time to work on the project. Beside this
point we do not have any issue with the course and everything is well organized.
