What information do you need to get from this interview?

The information that I need to get from this interview is the opinion
from the interviewee. I will be asking him about current sports
affairs surrounding the Premier League. I am aiming to gain an
understanding from a journalists point of view and how he portrays
the current stories.

Describe how you are planning on contacting and liaising with your
talent (interviewee)
I will contact my interviewee by emailing them and discussing the
topic that will be spoken about and also the dates that they can do. I
will screenshot the email conversation and place it here as
evidence.

How will you make sure unnecessary sounds etc. are not recorded?
When recording the interview, I will ensure that it is done in the
media studio. This will enable me to record the news programme in
a controlled and quiet environment where no unnecessary sounds
will be recorded. When recording the interview on location, I will aim
for it to be recorded in a quiet environment, for example a house or
office, so that there wont be any background noise interrupting the
interview.
What equipment will you need to carry out this interview?
As its a radio news Programme, in order to carry out the interview I

Question Formulation
Question: What about all these chants of boring boring Chelsea?

Likely Response: I agree with them, throughout the entire Manchester United game
they sat back and defended, however they still got the win. You would expect them to
win the title in style, and play some exciting football

Next Question: Gerrard made a comment this weekend about

Chelsea fans never turning up for the occasions do you think
thats just?

Likely Response: I agree with him, I think that the Chelsea fans were harsh on him
during their recent clash, yes, he may have made a mistake, but he is a legend in
football, and he deserves respect.

Next Question: Arsenal are in their position this season which is unexpected what
do you think Wenger has done differently this season?
Likely Response: Its all down to one thing. Alexis Sanchez. He has been incredible
for Arsenal this season and has helped them to achieve everything they have this
season, without him I think they would be fighting for fourth place down with
Liverpool.

Question: Man Utd had a poor start to the season, they managed to pull it back midway into the season, but now appear to have slightly dipped in form

Interview Style
Likely Response:

What will your interview style be? (Formal, informal and chatty,
intense, questioning, argumentative, friendly, jokey)
The style of my interview will be a variety of styles, for example,
chatty, friendly and informal.

Why have you chosen that style?

Nextchosen
Question:
I have
this style as the topics we will be talking about arent massively
important stories, so we want to keep a positive, friendly attitude where we
can easily discuss the stories. Due to the stories being public interest and not
human interest, they arent as hard hitting and serious, therefore a light, chatty
interview will ensure that the topics being discussed are more likely to be
followed and listeners can enjoy it more.
Likely Response:

Add research of other interviews/news shows where the presenter has a

similar style. You can insert another page here for your research.

Identifying Show Format

What style of news broadcast are you going to produce and
why?
I am going to produce a news programme because I feel that
this style will be better suited to what I want to create. It
will also be easier to create a piece of work which is nearer
to a professional standard.

How are you going to ensure your broadcast meets this

style?
I will listen to a variety of different news programmes in
order to understand what the correct format is. By listening
to Radio 5 Live for example, I will be able to hear what a
sports news programme sounds like and how much they talk
about each topic before they introduce the interview.

Provide some examples of similar styles of news broadcasts

below explaining why you have chosen them
http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/5lfd on the radio 5
live website, you are able to view and listen to all the
podcasts. This one talks about Englands national team and
how they need to entertain more when they play, about
Raheem Sterling and his recent criticism and also recent
transfer news.

Order of Content
Why is it important to consider the order in which news is
presented?
By knowing the order in which the news will be presented, makes it
easier for you to plan and also follow through with the interview. The
final process will become more structured and effectively give a
better end product.

What is the order of content for your show?

Introduce the show

Discuss what will happen in
the show
Introduce the interviewees
and the topic that will be
spoken about
End the interview

Why have you

decided to
order your
show in this
way?
I have decided
to order it in
this order as this style is similar to those of other news
programmes. So I wanted to create it into a professional
standard and I thought this would help me to achieve this.

Relevance of Content

Who is the target audience of your news broadcast?

The target audience of my news broadcast will be anyone who is
interested in sport. Predominantly any male from the ages of 16+,
however this doesnt exclude females.

How is the content of your news broadcast relevant to its

audience?
Its related to the audience as it is at this age range that you
would typically expect to listen to and be interested in the
sports news. This is maybe because they are all still
relatively young and interested in sports news.

How will you ensure your target audiences interests/needs

are met?
I will look at a variety of popular sports websites and social
networking accounts to see what sporting events are being
spoken about the most, and will then transfer that into my
show so that the audience will understand and enjoy
listening.

Type of Stories
What types of stories are you reporting? Human interest or
Public interest
Public interest as the show will be based on recent sporting
events, it may not be in the interest of a large amount of the public.
