I engaged the students by


playing moving the cards game.
Each student had one card that
includes a question and they
should write the answer on an
empty worksheet. If they finished
they should move it to the person
next to them. We checked the
answers altogether. After that I
asked Ss to set on the carpet and
I demonstrated the way of adding
using the 100 board. I said that
we should move up when we
subtract and I gave them many
examples to practice more. At the
end they answered the
worksheet.

I brought a small dice and we


played a small game. I asked
them to get one piece of the
puzzle and paste it on the board

For language I taught grammar

(contractions). First of all, I
showed them a story which
includes contractions. I asked
them to find out what is different
in it. We hi-lighted them together
and identified what does each
one means. For example, cannot
we make it can't and we were
saying it all-together. At the end,
we had the cut and paste activity.
For math I started to teach them
adding multiples of 100 to 2 and
3- digit numbers.
For UOI I taught them a lesson
about materials. I started with
asking them to look around and
find out what are the materials
made from. Then I showed them
a presentation about the
differences between man-made
and natural. Later on, we had to
classify materials to natural or

I told the students about the


table of stickers. The group which
will have the biggest number of
stickers will get 5 house points
and they were excited.
After that we did the picture
puzzle, I gave the instructions
carefully. Then I asked them to
answer each question and paste
the missing part of the picture
which has the answer on it.
Then I asked students to come
and set on the carpet each group
individually.
I demonstrated the new lesson by
adding one zero to the reviewing
questions. She will say that we
should not to look to the units or
tens, we only change the
hundreds. The interesting activity
I did was the video. Students
loved it because it was different
from the normal way.

My last week

My last week with grade 3 students went so fast. I had unforgettable


moments with them and that week was full of teaching. By the last few
days I just released that my students don't have the chance to act like
children they really don't!. Because, my teacher and her assistance are so
strict in dealing with them. They only give them a task to do and finish, I
strongly agree that this is what students should be doing. But, they still
need a space to have fun and enjoy. For sure, that my students were so
good in doing their tasks and they were perfectly learning. But, what I
didn't like is that they were incredibly prevented from playing, laughing or
even talking between the classes periods. This was a really bad thing that
I observed and students went through. However, my good experience
which I had in my fourth week is my teacher support. She really gave me
an excellent recommendations which I can build up my experience in
teaching on it. Whenever, something happens she tells me directly what
should be our next step. She showed me what are the right things which
might work especially with my class. Eventually, I liked everything in my
teaching practice and I improved my skills differently, especially in
planning and preparing very well. I have been told that planning is the
key of confidence and it is absolutely true.
