a. Create a system for regular student input regarding school culture and
learning.
b. Implement student-led conferences to help students accept personal
responsibility for their academic performance and teacher students the process
of self-evaluation, while promoting students, parents, and teachers to engage
in open and honest dialogue.
c. Facilitate meetings with Student Council members to increase student voice on
school culture and academics.
d. Meet with all new students to see how they are adjusting socially.
e. Incorporate student goal setting to give students long-term vision and shortterm motivation.
f. Promote greater consistency school wide in how adults respond to student
behavior and so that a restorative approach is taken in addressing discipline
situations.
4. Improve communications, both internally and externally
a. Develop and facilitate communication and data systems that assure the timely
flow of information.
b. Use Blackboard Connect system to communicate weekly with parents and the
community via phone messages and emails and provide information on
upcoming events and dates.
c. Use effective public information strategies to communicate with families and
community members school efforts including celebrations, curriculum and
instruction, adult learning articles and information on upcoming events and
dates.
d. Develop comprehensive strategies for positive community and media relations.
e. Provide the staff with a weekly newsletter utilizing Google Docs.
5. Ensure the success of all students and provide a high-performing learning
environment by managing daily operations and environments through efficiently and
effectively aligning resources with vision and goals.
a. Identify and allocate resources equitably to address the unique academic,
physical, and mental health needs of all students.
b. Allocate funds based on student needs within the framework of federal and
state rules.
c. Align resources (such as time, people, space, and money) to achieve the vision
and goals.
d. Advocate for and create collaborative systems and distributed leadership
responsibilities that support student and staff learning and well-being.
e. Develop mutually beneficial relationships with business, religious, political, and
service organizations to share school and community resources (such as
buildings, playing fields, parks, medical clinics, and so on).
