This is a sample Celtic Cross Tarot Reading I did for a client by email.

1 Covers You: Ten of Cups

The atmosphere and influences affecting the situation.
Focus
The focus is on impromptu departures from home, fleeing
from boring or dreary responsibilities, rest and relaxation
from work or worry, and unusual or unconventional
relationships.

Romance
"Emotion will rock the ocean" in a very unusual love affair.

Guidance
Mundane: It's not going to be easy, but keep trying and
you'll succeed. Esoteric: Your relationships are a direct
reflection of your relationship with yourself, or the way you
view your relationship with God. It follows then that if you
want your relationships to improve, you must first improve
your relationship with yourself. When you trust yourself,
you are trusting God.

2 Crosses You: IX The Hermit

Obstacles that stand in your way.
Disappointment
You are going to be very disappointed in the "things" of the
earth, i.e., life, love, and the pursuit of happiness.

Others
Though you have suffered deprivation, loneliness, or
enforced isolation, you are about to make a major
transition into a new lifestyle.

Romance
An old flame or romantic interest will reenter your life, but
you may still be strangers.

Guidance
Mundane: You WILL attain what you are seeking. Esoteric:
You've reached a point in your evolution where you should
KNOW that you don't have to have all the answers, or
know the future in advance, in order to ward off failure.
Reservations and distrustful thoughts are barriers that
stand between you and the Source, and they must be worn
down and eliminated.

3 Crowns You: IV The Emperor

Your aims or ideals, the best that can be achieved in
the situation.
Guidance
Mundane: An opportunity will arrive that could be the
foundation of a very successful future. This will be a very
propitious happenstance. Esoteric: If your foundation was
built correctly, the manifestation will follow. If not, you will
have to rebuild or start over.

Success
You will prosper in all financial transactions, complete
every task you set out to do, and accomplish much more
than you thought you would, and/or you will succeed in
launching great plans, building new platforms, and making
executive decisions.

Romance
You'll be thinking about the one you love and will want to
be with him or her again, and he or she will be thinking the
same about you. And when you hear from him or her, you
will make plans to get together.

4 Beneath You: Eight of Pentacles

The foundation or basis of the situation. What the past
has given you to use.
The Home
You will be looking for the solution to a problem (be it
external or internal) or the best action to take in order to
effectively get a handle on it or clear it up.

Inheritance
You will 'inherit' an offer of financial assistance or backing
for a new enterprise and recognition for your talents and
abilities.

Romance
Love may be difficult to ground, but someone will light up
your life (or be the best thing about life) and, if there's no
one special now, you'll attract romance like a bee to
honey.

Guidance
Mundane: Circumstances are going to change for the
better. Esoteric: You're not equipped to change conditions
or better your situation on your own. The answers or
assistance you require must come from others whose
experience, understanding, or knowledge is greater than
yours.

5 Behind You: Page of Wands

The recent past. Influences passing out of the
situation.
Endings
Settling for less will come to an end.

Romance
You will fear that you and your lover are not going to get
together or that, even if you did, it would just be a
superficial relationship with no real depth or giving of
yourselves.

Guidance
Mundane: Change is in the air and a new approach is at
hand. This could come through a friend who will help you
to "see the light" or attain a new perspective. Esoteric: Be
willing to wait, but don't compromise your self-esteem or
avoid "warning" signs.

6 Before You: King of Swords

Immediate future. Influences passing into the
situation.
Beginnings
You'll cut through adversity, see things the way they really
are, and set things straight in your personal affairs. Also,
someone you've been putting off or "stringing" along is
going to call.

Romance
Dwelling on the past only causes pain, so you'll release it
and let it go. This could be concerning someone who's in a
legal or law-enforcement profession.

Guidance
Mundane: Stay detached. You will be able to perceive the
truth in situations, and your impressions or perceptions will
later be confirmed. Esoteric: Don't be afraid to be
defenseless of "lay your cards on the table." It can make a
difference, because what's consciously or unconsciously
being expressed is coming from genuine concern.

7 Your Role: Three of Cups

Your significator, your position and attitude in the
situation.
Focus
The focus is on self-improvement, self-healing
(nourishment or recovery), self-realization and self-love,
social interactions, the effects of others, spiritual
awakening, and/or animals or pets.

Romance
You need to be loved and nurtured, and you will want to
BE loving but need to feel that you are loved and fulfilled
first. An empty cup can't quench anyone's thirst.

Guidance
Mundane: Realize what it is you're striving for or what you
want to represent, and know the supply will meet the
demand. Whatever you choose will be the right choice.
Esoteric: This is a highly impressionable and sensitive time
because you're operating on the emotional plane and your
body is in tune and susceptible to all kinds of new
sensations. But a healing will come and a feeling of peace,
grace, and gratitude will follow.

8 Environment: Six of Cups

Your "house". The circumstances and immediate
friends that influence the situation.
Friends
You are going to get an unexpected offer of love and
support from a friend or loved one, but another will soon
leave your life, and you will be very sad or lonely without
them.

The Home
A relative is going to call from a distance. You will take a
short trip or jaunt (could be a shopping trip), and/or a
business opportunity will arrive.

Family
There will be much coming and going around the home
front, with many departures and arrivals, and a friend or
relative you haven't seen in a while is going to call on you.

Romance
Though you've yearned for only one, you will have a
transcendent experience that will open your heart to new
possibilities.

Guidance
Mundane: Happiness can come from many sources,
whether it's one you've named or not. God works in
mysterious ways. Esoteric: Just because no one sees
things the way you do, or things don't appear to be working
out, don't think that "this is real" and God (or the

miraculous) is not. Cultivate a habit of applying your

metaphysical knowledge to your everyday experiences by
turning within instead of barricading the Infinite with stress,
and It will become more real to you.

9 Hopes & Fears: XIV Temperance

The hopes and fears of the situation.
Anxiety
You're going to have an unforseen problem to confront.
This could also indicate unwanted advances from a suitor.

Desire
You want spiritual assistance in producing the solution to a
problem.

Romance
You are going to have an unexpected call from or
"encounter" with an admirer, someone you were attracted
to or involved with in the past, who's returned as if to have
a last go-around or to close that chapter in your life for
good.

Guidance
Mundane: Many unforseen or unexpected events are going
to come up, but these elements will chemicalize,
neutralize, or transform situations, all with a positive end in
view. Esoteric: What you're experiencing is a clash
between the old and the new, a chemical reaction in mind,
body, and affairs caused by a reaction to a new action.
There is nothing to fear; it's part of the process and without
it change could not occur.

10 Culmination: II The High Priestess

The culminating card, the final result of the situation.
Outcome
Help will come if you need it, and things are going to turn
out quite differently than you anticipate. You can also
expect a pleasant surprise or two.

Romance
You will be putting love, or the one you love, out of your
thoughts in order to avoid emotional entanglements or the
pangs of desire.

Guidance
Mundane: Once you make a decision or decide upon a
goal, make a commitment to it and let nothing divert you
from it or keep you from attaining it. Recognize the
patterns that have sabotaged you in the past, and cut them
off. Esoteric: This is a gestation period. Changes are taking
place on the inner planes, and at the appropriate time,
these new energies will be released and you will spring
back into full force.
