Our 50th Manito Art League Art Show will be held Thursday through Sunday at the Manitowish Waters Community
Center. It will be open to the public on the following schedule:
July 16, Thursday---- 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
July 17, Friday ------- 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
July 18, Saturday ---- 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
July 19, Sunday ------ 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The 60th Annual Range Art Association Art Show: Friday, July 24 - Sunday, July 26
Entry Deadline: July 13
The Range Art Association Art Show will be held in the Iron County Memorial Building, 201 Iron St., Hurley, WI 54534. Fine
art in all media will be accepted. There is a $25 entry fee for up to three works of art and all artwork must be original, signed,
and for sale. There will be a separate section for the display of artwork by students under age 18, for whom there will be no
entry fee. Receiving will be on Wednesday and Thursday, July 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The reception will be Sunday,
July 26, from 4 -5 p.m., with pick-up thereafter. Contact Gail Kniska at 715-561-2072 or gkniska000@centurytel.net.

Manito Art League Squares for Scholarships, Exhibit and Sale: June 7 - July 31
This special exhibit is being held in celebration of MALs 50th Anniversary. Members of Manito Art League have
chosen to honor the past with donations of art for the future by contributing new, original art on 12 x 12 canvas
boards that will be sold for $50 each, with all proceeds from sales going to scholarships in the arts. The exhibit
will continue though July 31, but many originals have sold already . Photos of the original artwork replace the
originals, and they are for sale also. Payment can be made at the Artists Palette in Manitowish Waters. The
Business Incubator is located at 399 S. Highway 51 in Manitowish Waters. The display area is open Monday Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 pm.

Stay at The Lodge at Kemp Natural Resources Station, overlooking Lake Tomahawk, south of Woodruff. Hike, learn
about diverse native species, and explore the shores of Lake Tomahawk by kayak, hearing stories of the first native
people and seeing the burial mounds they left behind. Inspired by the natural surroundings, learn how to create
landscapes using needle felting techniques. Hiking and paddling outings are optional and dependent upon weather.
Day Commuters are welcome. This workshop begins Friday at 3:00 p.m. and ends Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Contact

October 8 15: The Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland Tour with Joan Slack
This trip will focus on the southwestern part of the Wild Atlantic Way where participants will explore the history,
culture, archaeology, and secret places of this coastline. The trip will begin in Dublin, then Killarney and its national
park, and the Beara Peninsula. Participants will visit contemporary artists in their studios and top-notch art galleries.
October 20 - 31: Tracing the Past Tour to Ireland with Joan Slack
Explore enchanting Ireland on the eastern and northern coasts and delve into the texture of Irish culture from
prehistory to present. The trip begins in Dublin, which offers a look at hundreds of years of history through its
architecture, culture, and museums, especially the National Museum. There will be special visits to the National
Gallery, Trinity College with its Book of Kells, and Christchurch Cathedral. There is a genealogy component to this
trip for those interested, with Dave Miller offering a class on finding your Irish roots, consulting services, hands-on
research, and visits to the Public Records Office of Northern Ireland and the Ulster Historical Foundation in Belfast.
Those participants not involved in research will enjoy day trips along the northern coast.
