Your job is to illustrate some kind of picture related to the reading. It can be a sketch, cartoon,
diagram, flow chart, or stick figure scene. You can draw a picture of something that the readings
reminded you of, or a picture that conveys any ideas or feeling you got from the reading. Any
kind of illustration or graphic is okay. You can even label items with words if that helps. You will
be responsible to capture the meaning of a reading or set of readings in a creative way. There are
no right or wrong answers or illustrations.
This role can be combined with the Creative Connector Role *** strongly recommended for
small groups.
Make your illustration on a separate page that is in appropriate format to share with your group
and include in your portfolio.
Presentation Plan: When the Keeper of the Talking Stick and/or Passage Master invites your
participation, you may show your illustration without comments to the others.
One at a time they will get to speculate (make a guess about) what your picture means to connect
the drawing to their own ideas about the reading.
After everyone has had a say, you get the last word: tell them what your illustration means,
where it came from or what it represents to you.

Adult Learner Chapter 4: Group B, Module 3

Group Members: Reading Circle Roles
This module introduces the student to the four conditions-inclusion, attitude, meaning, and
competence that substantially enhance adult motivation to learn.
These motivational conditions are dynamically integrated into the Motivational Framework for
Culturally Responsive teaching. This model is also an organizational aid for designing
instruction.
This module also deals with a comprehensive treatment of the motivational condition of
"inclusion" in adult learning.

1. What does the illustration mean? This illustration means to me that all the different
colors represent different people. It is import to include all people. All of these
people are facing the same direction and looking up. While they are all different
they are all working toward the same goal in the same group.
2. Where did it come from? It came from INDIE: Irish Network for Digital Inclusion
and Engagement.
3. What does it represent to me? To me this is a reminder that it is important to think
about and be mindful of providing equal chances for all adults to engage in digital
services and opportunities.
