The students will use hand gestures to sign the pledge as it is said and to
understand the star spangled banner.

We will go through the signs as a class. The teacher will sign all of
the pledge while the students watch. .
Listen to the star spangled banner on the smart board.
After the song is listened to, play song again but stop at different
times and talk about the song and learn those words.
Once children learn one section of the song move onto the next. It
goes when teaching the pledge in sign language.
The teacher will encourage student participation in singing the
beginning and ending chorus.
Before moving on to the next portion of the lesson, each student
will show they know the song.
Divide the class into two groups and let them practice the song and
signs with each other.
When students have finished with groups after 15 minutes go over
songs and signs again with group.
Start next class by showing students the sign and song then break up into
groups sooner.
