As e ducational institutions, as human beings, there should be a larger sense of inclusion in ou

sexuality in e ducational institutions' data collection, official forms, etc.
There should be more inclusion in categories of race, gender, and sexuality in important
surveys such as census and applications.

There should be a larger e ffort in promoting inclusive talk of race, gender, and sexuality to
create safe spaces to be aware and understand the issues of racism, sexism, and homophobia
by changing the language that we use.

"As a learner, Ive learned without fine tuning the way we write, without our careful choice of
words, without being aware of the way words can affect the world for good or for bad, writing
would not have the influence that it has. Therefore, I am learning to be more aware of language
and how the words we choose may dehumanize, wrongfully stereotype, and make
generalizations we might not even notice. I am learning to overcome the challenge of ignoranc
and learning the ability to identify these discrepancies in our vocabulary in order to write to
change the world. I hope that by learning to identify these harmful phrases like illegal alien, I
