Introduction to Project
We, a group of 4 which contains Yang Jing Loo, Lim Hong Wei, Lee Lin Hui
and me have to find a specific empty land to initiate a small construction
project. The size of the land shall lay between 50m x 50m (2500 square
metres) 70m x 50m (3500 square metres). And individually, we have to
propose one project that serves on any one or combination of two of the
following purposes.

Our choices:-

Recreation area
Commercial area
Industrial area
Agricultural area
Tourism area
Residential area

1.1 Introduction to Site

We, as a team has chosen the site in Jalan Saga,
Saga Park, Bandar Sri
Damansara, Selangor, Malaysia. This project is at rough area of 55m x
60m. This site existed since the year of 1990s. At that time, there was
nothing but just a piece of lush greenery land. And now, there are a few
softscape and hardscape elements existing.

1.1 Site Analysis

The site has a large basketball court and an abandoned kick volleyball
court. But both the courts are not planned to be demolished as the nearby
residences have the initiative to play during leisure time. The main reason
of this construction plan is to avoiding residences nearby can conserve
time by not travelling to far shops just to buy daily necessities. In the
same time reduce the percentage of air pollution. The site that is going to
be developed is a huge empty land.

1.2 Project Description

The name of this project is called Resicom. This name came from the
word Residential and Commercial. The name itself has explained it all. It
involves a construction of residential area or commercial area.
The project brief is estimated to be done by 9 th June 2015. And the project
takes roughly around 4 to 5 months.

1.3 Concept of Project

As written above, we are given a few construction choices of areas
recreation area, commercial area, industrial area, agricultural area,
tourism area and residential area.
There will be no chance to build industries as there are residences nearby.
And the only possibility is to build a residential area, recreation area,
agricultural area or commercial area.
Commercial area

Commercial area is a place where people will visit. Including cafes in the
commercial block will be effective because of younger generation
nowadays like to chill and chit-chat at nearby cafes. As the commercial
areas are in the neighbourhood, residences nearby just have to walk a few
steps to reach the cafes. Making the surrounding people more convenient.
Residential area

Nowadays, commercial areas have included some residences in the

second floor or above. Residence who lives above the commercial blocks
may gain advantage as the can get daily necessities in a nick time.

1.4 Project Background

Saga Park, Bandar Sri Damansara was the first park that has been ever
built and since the spaces are not maintain so often, might as well use the
vacant spaces to develop developments to benefits the surrounding
residences.
