Remembering Jeanne Register Price

Jeanne Price was truly a special person and everyone was
very fond of her. She loved Ryder so much and she enjoyed seeing him sing with our Cherub choir. I remember one
time that she had such a good laugh when Ryder was sort of
hiding out in the back when the children were singing for our
Shrove Tuesday program. When we were ready to sing, I
noticed that he wasn't in the group so I turned around and
said "Ryder, where are you?" She said that he was back
there and since he was found out, he HAD to come up with
the choir!
We will miss Jeanne's good humor, kindness and the many
ways that she made life better for so many people.
Janice Chandler

It has been an honor to come to

know Jeanne more inclusively thru
our work on the session and our
Mission Trip to New Orleans in
2010. She was a tireless worker
and showed her love for the Church
and people daily. From organizing
meals for session meetings, keeping minutes, planning events and
helping all committees......she was
always there. From the long drive,
sleeping on the floor of the gym,
packing lunches, working on the job
sites sharing our faith and not to
mention the great seafood.....New
Orleans Mission Trip was important
to both of us for what could give.
Jeanne will always be in our hearts
and minds!
Pam Vernon

Jeanne was beautiful, smart, talented and a true asset to our

church and community. She gave
unselfishly of her time and talents, which were unparalleled as
far as her computer skills, decorating, and cooking. Her food
was not only delicious, but
served in the most beautiful
bowls made by her loving husband, James. Our thoughts,
prayers and love go out to her
family. Jeanne will truly be
missed.

During the years of our churchs food

pantry, Jeanne and James were present at nearly every monthly distribution. She treated every customer
there with dignity, respect, and a gracious smile as they came through
her station. Jeanne had an ability to
relate to people, food recipients, students, parents, church members, as
if they were all treasured acquaintances and welcomed friends. She
made everyone she encountered
feel genuinely cared for and valued.
Her gifts were a natural fit for the
member care committee of Session.
Jeanne was so committed to her
work as an elder that she agreed to
serve two consecutive terms, and
served as Clerk as well. The quality
of her Session minutes was exemplary and reflected her intelligence
and ability to communicate effectively.

Jeanne Register Price was a valued
and beloved member of the community of First Presbyterian Church in
Wadesboro from the time of her
birth; she was grafted into its fellowship at her baptism, and as that
Church, we now celebrate her life at
its end. Hebrew 12:1 tells us that
we are surrounded by so great a
cloud of witnesses referring to
those who have gone before us in
the faith. Jeanne has now joined
that great cloud of witnesses; she
has gone from this earth into the
arms of a loving God and awaits our
joining her there. Let us all say together Thanks be to God for the life
of Jeanne Register Price.

Jeanne Price was an example of what God wants our lives to be. Her
love for others was shown in so many ways, but I wanted to share this
memory with all of you. Some of you have heard this story previously.
Around the time Morgan passed away in 2013, Jeanne had been so
sick and had been through so much relating to her health. She spent
many of her days receiving medical care. Jeanne was always thinking
of others, however. One day when we were talking she told me that
she would go through everything that she had gone through again if
Morgan could only have lived. What a selfless way to express to a
grieving grandmother her love for Morgan, touching my heart in a way
that I will never forget.
Bonnie Morgan

Whether sitting through a long Session meeting, riding hours in a

cramped van on a Mission trip or after a day of hard work on a
Mission trip work site, Jeanne never had a complaint or cross
word. She was a genuinely sweet and caring person.
Jeanne was a friend and much loved member of this church family.
We miss her.

Here is Rev. Dumford's prayer shared during the Sunday, June

21 worship service and the beautiful flowers placed at the front
in memory of Jeanne Price.
O God, You have called us to be a people of prayerto continue the ministry of love and compassion handed on to us by Jesus Christ Himself. We pray for James Price and his Family, Ryder and all those who have lost a wife, mother and grandmother.
For our church who has seen a friend, colleague, Elder, and
teacher pass into the hands of God and the company of our
Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Through the life-giving power of
Your Holy Spirit, make Your sustaining presence and grace
known to all of us who turn to you so that we, too, may know
Your love and live.
We pray for all of us who are mourning the death of Jeanne
Price. Comfort us in the knowledge that Jesus has won a victory
over death, so that everyone who dies in Christ may have eternal life.
Keep us from fearing death, but at times of doubt, help us put
our faith in Jesus. Help us to live as Easter people who face
death in the certain hope of resurrection. Remind us and comfort us every day with your promise that we will be raised up together with all who have died in the faith and love of Christ.
Amen.

about differing cultures and ways
of learning about Gods work in
the world. Those countries included Pakistan, Guatemala,
Malawi, Peru, and the Philippines. A special thank you to
