Ability Tests : Assess different aspects of
Intellectual activity particularly logic and
creativity
Aptitude Tests : Assess a persons potential to
learn. Measures specific areas such as
verbal,numerical,perceptual, clerical or
mechanical aptitude
Job Knowledge : Measures the job knowledge of
candidates. Eg. Computer language for IT firms.
Personality Testing : Measures enduring aspects
of individuals which makes them unique

Reliability : Degree of consistency between
two measures of the same thing
Validity : Test measures what it purports to
measure
Norms : estimate of the position of the
tested individual in a predefined population
Cultural Adaptation : Making the test
adaptable across various cultures/groups/
settings
