Communication Career Preview Day


A half-day networking event
Friday, April 9, 2010 │ 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The Communication Career Preview Day gives 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year undergraduate students the opportunity to
spend the day visiting two communication firms and a networking lunch panel with employers who have a particular
interest in diversity recruiting. The day will begin with registration, followed by two morning employer site visits. The
group will reconvene for an employer sponsored lunch, which will include a panel discussion with professionals
working within the communications industry. Please note that this event is walking intensive. Students from all
academic majors are encouraged to apply. To be considered for this exciting opportunity, please prepare the
following materials by MONDAY, MARCH 8:
• Student Application (this form)
• A current one-page résumé
• A one-page diversity statement explaining why you are applying for the program. This should include
your views on diversity and why you consider yourself to be a diverse candidate. Also describe what you
hope to gain from the day’s activities.

more about what careers in this industry entails; explore possible career paths and develop potential networks.
