ABSTRACT

The Flexible Pavements Program focuses on issues related to the design, construction, and
maintenance of asphalt pavements. Design of two lane flexible pavement is at Bhongir
National Highway Existing road which should be stretch of about two kilometres.
The main purpose of project is design of widening of existing road. Firstly we have to
do the preliminary survey of existing road for levelling. Here we are collecting traffic volume
data as per the survey.
Based on the traffic volume we are designing the road widening and designing of
different components like testing soil, finding strength and designing of extra layered
pavement.
We are designing of pavement according to the IS codes IRC 37:2001 and
IRC:SP:73-2007.
Ms-Excel software is used for the traffic volume analysis.
