SECTION-II

Part A- Ferrous materials specification.

Part B- Non-ferrous materials specification.
Part C- Specifications for, welding rods, electrodes & filler materials.

Part A- Ferrous materials specification:In this ferrous materials classified in the basis of different standards,
For example WNRTJ flg ASTM A-182 Gr F316
WNRTJ- weld neck ring face asper ASTM
A-182- materials specification/code
Gr F316- again classified based on composition.

Part C- Specifications for, welding rods, electrodes & filler materials:Specifing welding consumable for matels, classification according
Type of current, covering, welding position and mechanical properties in the weld
material aged condition in AWS(American Welding Society ).
E XX YY M
E- Designates an electrode.
XX- Designates required minimum tensile strength in ksi.
YY- Designates welding position in which electrodes are useable, type of covering,
Welding current for which electrodes are suitable.
M- Designates an electrode intended to meet most military requirements.
For eg:- E7018M.
For other types of welding using other alphabets as c, s.

SECTION-V
Non Destructive Examination (NDV)
1. Radiographic Test (RT)
2. Liquid Penetrate Test (LPT)
3. Magnetic Particle Test (MPT)
4. Eddy Current Test (ET)
5. Ultrasonic Test (UT)
Acceptance Limits:-

RT

*Maximum size of rounded indication up to 25mm(thickness of weld) 4mm

*Maximum size of rounded indication up to 51mm(thickness of weld) 10mm
*Aliegn grounded indications
Summations of dia of indications are less than weld thickness in a length of
12T.

LPT
Surfaces free from,

*Relevant linear indication.

*Relevant rounded indications greater than 3/16(4.8mm).
*Four or more relevant rounded indications in a line separated by 1/16(1.6mm)or
less.

MPT
As same as LPT
