PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT

The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Summary of the teachers' and administrators' current technology proficiency and

integration skills and needs for professional development.
1-Do administrators support teachers with the integration of
technology for daily curriculum?
HPS expect school principals to perform the instructional and technology
leaders. The principals design the new implementation before asking
teachers to implement and use the new technology or instructional programs.
HPS provide professional development to our teachers to ensure the new
implementation is successful. Administrators consider the need of technology
workshop and reserve allocations for those workshops while working on their
school budget.
2- What do teachers and administrators consider as their needs for

professional development?
Each campus has district level instructional coaches and a data analyst to
supervise the technology integration. They responsible to include determining
the instructional technology that needs of each classroom as well.
Coaches continuously monitor teachers via each software dashboard and
prepare report to share with administrators for enforcement purposes. Those
reports give a great opportunity to discover the failure and develop new
strategies to solve the problem that we face.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment
data and the Curriculum Component of the plan.
1- What professional development will be provided to ensure teachers and
administrators will be able to effectively accomplish the curricular goals.
NWEA tests are conducted three (3) times in a year to determine and
monitor each student academic growth. HPS have district level instructional
coaches and a data analyst to supervise student learning and make datadriven instructional decisions for our students.
NWEA test reports are shared with all stakeholders to make appropriate
decisions.
On the other hand, program/software usage report is another tool to monitor
students progress. Based on this report, we accommodate each student
workload.
2-How will teachers and administrators be trained and provided on-

going support in the effective integration of technology into the

curriculum?

Instructional coaches in each cluster visit teacher in their classroom to

provide support. Each teacher has a mentor to receive support. Central
office and cluster office personnels provide professional development
all around year. Webinars and surveys are provide extra tools to
enhance the familiarity of our faculty members with technology.
Reports are put together by coaches and data analyst to discuss and
discover the opportunities.
INFRASTRUCTURE, HARDWARE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, SOFTWARE, AND
ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPONENT CRITERIA

damage (including protection from natural or human caused
fire/water/physical damage)?
In order to protect mobile devices secured when not in use, to prevent theft or
damage (including protection from natural or human caused fire/water/physical
damage), insurance is available for schools to purchase. One month ago,
Braeswood Branch has flooded and insurance company replaced everything.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT
The plan must include an evaluation process that enables the school to monitor
progress toward the specific goals and make mid-course corrections in response
to new developments and opportunities as they arise.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the process for evaluating the plan's overall progress and impact on
teaching and learning.
1-How will the LEA know whether implementation of this plan has made a
positive impact on classroom, library, and school and LEA management?
The content that teachers deliver should be individualized. Therefore, they
increase the enrollment capacity of the schools to find a solution. This leads
to more students in the classroom. Every school cant afford teacher aides as
well. This is a great challenge to solve. When we consider the ESL and special
education populations as well as all subcategory groups, the challenge that
we face is getting bigger. The perfect solution is technology implementation.

2-What criteria will be used to measure success (e.g., test scores, student
portfolios, percentage of students attaining grade-level content standards,
attendance, dropout rate, matriculation to college, or full-time
employment)?
The TEA accountability rating is our main standard to determine whether the
plan implementation is successful or not.
NWEA MAP growth data for students will be an alternative measurement tool
to make a data driven decision about the plan success.

Describe the schedule for evaluating the effect of plan implementation; including
a description of the process and frequency of communicating evaluation results
to tech plan stakeholders.
