CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
For this experience, I was required to coach a fellow educator who is open to integrating
technology in her classroom. I introduced her to various technology tools and how to
implement these tools in her classroom. I also observed how she progressed and provided
feedback and logged all of my findings in a journal. I learned that a coaching relationship is
similar to a partnership. Its all about giving respect and learning how to work together.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
To be able to complete this experience, a technology leader must have extensive knowledge of
the subject matter he/she is introducing. The leader must be able to present material in a
way that will peak the interest of his/her audience. The leader will have to collaborate with
his/her colleagues and work together to discover solutions to complex problems. The leader
must also be dedicated and have a positive attitude, even when other people may be less than
positive.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
This experience helped raise awareness in the area of instructional technology. Teachers
became aware of the various technologies available to them and the resources at their
disposal for implementation. Hopefully teachers will use the information they learned to
modify their teaching methods. Teachers were asked to complete surveys and leave
comments about the effectiveness of the workshop.
