PCHS History
2011

PCCSS receives $2.6 million grant for a College and Career Academy

2012

SAT Scores are the highest in the region


Graduation rate is 69.59%, just below the state average of 69.72%
College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI- 72.4%) is the
highest in our region.

2013

PCHS named an AP Challenge, STEM and STEM Achievement School


Percentage of students scoring a 3 or higher on AP exams exceeds state
and international rates
CCRPI -79.2 increased 6.8 points from 2012, Exceeds the state (71.8) by
almost 9 points
Interest and participation in dual enrollment starts to increase

2014

Awarded $2.4 Million US DOL Youth Career Connect Grant

Dual enrollment for degree level courses is the highest in the


schools history (98.3% of students earn credit) with over $75K in
tuition savings
Named AP Challenge and Access and Support School
12 college courses taught on campus (direct and distance)

PCHS pursued this grant for additional resources needed to increase

opportunities/post secondary credentials for students before exiting


high school
The awarding of the YCC Grant will allow PCHS to develop the Youth

Empowerment for Success (YES) - 4.5 years

Welding

6 Technical College Certificates (TCCs) and/or Welding and


Joining Technology Diploma

Health Care

4 TCCs including foundational courses for Practical Nursing


(Health Care Assistant TCC, Medical Assisting AD)

visit
Completed college or career planning program utilizing Middle Georgia
Workforce Investment Board resources
Participated in at least two job shadowing opportunities
Applied for at least two internships or to two post-secondary
