playing. A Math Challenge game will be played at the
beginning of class.

Individual homework assignments, Tests and Exams will be given related to the topics.

Teacher Input/Modeling:
1. I will give the students assignments that teach them new methods and understanding of math concepts
that they will work alone and together.
2. I will give the students tests that will check their understanding and comprehension of the material that
will be given.
3. Teach students by playing the Various math games including the Math Challenge Game

Guided Practice: WE DO: Students will write math vocabulary words into their notebooks. Students will play
games with the class and will be required to answer out loud. Students will complete projects that will align with
the lesson being taught.

CFU (Checking for understanding): Teacher will check for understanding by listening and observing the
students while they work on open group assignments. Teacher will check for understanding by grading class work and
homework. Teacher will question students to get an understanding of their knowledge of the lesson.

Independent Practice: YOU DO (Individual students): Teacher will go over assignments with the students
during class and give feedback during the lesson. Students will work on assignments alone in class on some
assignments.

Higher Level Questions to Incorporate: Help the students to understand why and how it is important to
know math for future use. What ways will the students be able to use these math skills now? Help the
students to recall ways that they have already used this type of math.

We will go over all of the material in pairs for independent practice and to check for understanding.
9. Ending, Summary / Reflection:
As a class we will review the lessons given and the reasons how and why math is important for every day use
in life.
