Functioned as an RN under the direct supervision of RN faculty.
Clinicals performed on multiple medical surgical units, oncology
unit, intensive care units, emergency department, labor and
delivery, mother/baby unit. Other clinical rotations include
home health care, psychiatric rotations at Riverside Behavioral
Center and pediatric rotations at St. Marys home for disabled
children and public schools.

changes, IV infusions, safe administration of medications,
intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, wound vacuums,
removal of stitches/drains, proper documentation, patient

and fall risk assessments, up to date care plans, dressing
changes, foley insertion and removal, specimen collection,
obtaining EKGs and bladder scans, PICC line access, care and
maintenance, accessing porta catheters, IV infusions,
transfusion of blood and blood products, wound care, care and
maintenance of wound and biliary drains, colostomy care,
tracheostomy care, intramuscular and subcutaneous injections,
safe administration of medications, patient education on
pressure ulcer prevention, MRSA, CHF, COPD, diabetes,
hypertension and infection control. Proper documentation into
patient chart,patient safety/advocacy, proper education on
discharge instructions, collaboration with physicians, staff and
supervisors.
Patient history and diagnosis on this unit include: CHF, COPD,
altered mental statue, kidney injury and/or failure, pre and
post-liver transplants, terminal and benign cancers,
chemotherapy, cellulitis, Diabetes I and II, UTI, pneumonia,

lower/upper gastrointestinal bleeding, dementia, failure to

thrive, anemia
