Fair Trade USA

The Certified ToxicFree Seal

on many of our Healthy Home
Company products guarantees
that the products and ingredients
have been tested and approved
by the ToxicFree Foundation.
The formulas have been found
to be free of any ingredients that
would be suspected to have
short-term or long-term affects
on the health and safety of
anyone using them, as well as
the environment. This is not the
same as non-toxic, which is a
term that is unregulated by the
government and the scientific
community at large. Many
companies use the acute toxicity
test known as the LD50, which
stipulates that only products
that kill 51% or more of test
subjects are labeled toxic.
Many companies designate
themselves as non-toxic if only
49% or less of said subjects
perish from chemical exposure.

Ecocert is an organic
certification organization,
founded in France in 1991.
It is based in Europe but
conducts inspections in
over 80 countries, making
it one of the largest organic
certification organizations in
the world.

Fair Trade USAs mission

is to enable sustainable
development and community
empowerment by cultivating
a more equitable global trade
model that benefits farmers,
workers, consumers, industry
and the earth. Fair Trade USA
audits transactions between
U.S. companies offering Fair
Trade Certified products and
the international suppliers from
whom they source, in order to
guarantee that the farmers and
farm workers behind Fair Trade
Certified goods were paid a fair,
honest price.

Vegan
Many of Healthy Home Company
products are vegan, which
means they use mineral- and
plant-based ingredients such as
oils, nut butters and herbs.

Cruelty Free
If you see this certification on
a Healthy Home Company
product that means it has
been manufactured or
developed by methods
that do not involve
experimentation on animals.

USDA Biobased
The USDA BioPreferred
program, of which the USDA
Biobased Certification is a
part, was created to promote
the increased purchase and
use of biobased products.
The increased development,
purchase, and use of biobased
products reduces our Nations
reliance on petroleum, increases
the use of renewable agriculture
resources and may contribute to
reducing adverse environmental
and health impacts.

EWG Rating
The Environmental Working
Group (EWG) database is a
searchable electronic product
directory that ranks products
based on the potential toxicity
of their ingredients. Each part
is given a two-part score. Part
one is a hazard score and
part two is a data availability
score. Each products
hazard score falls between
0-10, which reflects known
and suspected hazards of
ingredients.

Non-GMO
GMO stands for Genetically
Modified Organisms. Healthy
Home Company products that
bear this seal do not contain
ingredients that have been
genetically engineered.

BPA Free
The BPA Free seal means
that Healthy Home Company
plastic bottles and containers
do not contain Bisphenol A,
a chemical that releases a
hormone-like substance that
causes potential side effects
in humans.

Made in the USA

The Made in USA mark on
