Todays Obese Society


Obesity is extra fat that increases their risk of health
problems.
Correlation between childhood obesity and adult obesity.
U.S. childhood obesity has tripled since 1980.
Increased risk of hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus,
sleep apnea, asthma, menstrual irregularities,
musculoskeletal disorders, and psychological problems.

Imbalance of between energy intake and energy expenditure.

Studies show genetic links amongst families who all exhibit
obesity

Our mission is to provide children in the
community with the education needed about
nutrition and a healthy lifestyle to encourage
healthy behaviors that will last a lifetime.

Nutrition Ammunition:
Our Philosophy
We believe that proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle are
imperative to a child's daily life. We are committed to
educating and mentoring our children regarding these
issues and leading them to a healthy lifestyle that will last
throughout their lifetime.

1.) Children will maintain healthy BMI's
2.) Children will demonstrate healthy eating and physical activity
behaviors.
3.) Parents of children will gain understanding and demonstrate the
need for maintenance of healthy eating and physical activity
behaviors.

Objectives
1.) Provide exercising programs for children and parents and
monitor progression.
2.) Provide teaching about healthy nutrition to children and parents
and monitor compliance with teaching.
3.) Monitor BMI's and vital signs of children routinely to assess
progression or lack of progression

Program Strategies
Treasury: Committee is responsible for monitoring funds of the
organization and ensuring that funds remain sufficient and are
allocated properly. This committee distributes funds in a group
manner with no one person in total control.
Education: This committee is responsible for collecting material and
educating parents and children about healthy eating habits and
exercise programs. It is also in charge of providing resources to help
reinforce positive healthy behaviors.

Program Strategies
Exercise: Accountable for creating age appropriate exercise plans for children and
working with children through the plan and updating this program as needed. Also
responsible for encouraging children to participate, as well as providing information
for parents about active lifestyles.
Monitoring: Responsible for following progress of children while monitoring vital
signs and ensuring the compliance of participants while maintaining their records
regarding exercise and weight loss.
Support: Responsible for offering support for parents to help ensure that they
understand the project and their responsibilities. Responsible for assisting parents
and children who are struggling to achieve success within the program. The
committee will also provide resources as needed to encourage healthy behavior
compliance.
