Recommendations

The researchers would like to suggest the following recommendations for future researchers
to improve the structure of the study and to promote its significance.
Recommendations:
A. For Future Researchers
Proper orientation should be given to the data collectors before the conduction of study to
avoid bias. It is better if all students in the class are present during the data collection. Although
respondents are solely observed without being influenced on how they must conduct themselves
during the duration of this study, they should be instructed and informed to completely fill out
the needed data in the questionnaire during data gathering. Well informed data collectors and
cooperative respondents is the key to successfully data gathering.
B.
Music therapy does not exactly work in 3 minutes. Music time should be adjusted for the
subjects to really appreciate music therapy.
The researcher inside the IV room cannot be fixed to their assigned positions because
they all depend on the position of the doctor, aid, nurse, and the child so that they may have a
clear view of what is happening, hence, it is proposed that there be no fixed location of observers
in the room to allow better scrutiny. Also, most of the time the researcher would be asked to help
restrain the subjects.
C. Nursing Profession
Encouraging nurse to inform the pediatric patients of the procedure in simple and age
appropriate instructions is necessary when they are undergoing a painful and invasive procedure
because it can be traumatic. The researchers also recommend testing other means to reduce pain
during IV insertion such as allowing the subjects to watch animated videos or allowing the
presence of their significant others.
