Outcome #2

Integrating theories and knowledge from interdisciplinary subjects to develop a

foundation for nursing practice evolves interpreting and analyzing information to
provide best care practices. Theoretical practice initiates systematic thinking and
planning helping nurses respond practically and efficiently. Nurses are able to
practice in many different areas using Theoretical Base for Practice techniques.
The first assignment included in this section includes Health Promotion with a
focus on Stress Management. This piece was included, because it uses different
techniques to reduce stress. Stress is a condition many suffer from even health care
personnel. Reducing stress involves a multitude of techniques from multiple areas of
expertise. Non-Pharmacologic interventions can be just as helpful. Nurses can
integrate theories and knowledge from other interdisciplinary areas to develop and
plan better outcomes. The outcome was met because it helped me to explore how to
use different areas of knowledge to promote non-pharmacological outcomes.
The second piece I included in this section focused on vulnerable populations and
health disparities. I was also able to implement knowledge from different areas of
learning. Vulnerable population and health disparities are not a medical condition it is
more of a political issue with the medical field advocating for change. I was able to
meet this income by analyzing demographics, socioeconomically status, culture, and
how employment or ethnicity affects medical care. Apply knowledge from other
interdisciplinary areas and nursing help me explore how addressing multiple factors
can impact those populations. I also realized how advocating for these populations at
a public and national level can improve their circumstances.
