Meaning

3.1 Pre-Stage:
Discussion questions:
1. Do you think this author would be
considered a good writer? Why or
why not?
2. What are some things you like about
her writing?
3. What are some things you like about
her word choice?
3.2. During Stage: Students will
create sentences with similar
meanings to those found in the book
(found on handout) Students may
work alone, with a partner, or in a
small group.
3.3 Post-Stage: Students will share
their new sentences by writing them
on the board.

pronunciation and decide on which
syllable the stress is placed. Students
will paste the word under the
appropriate column.
4.3 Post-Stage: Check for correct
words. Practice pronunciation
together as a class. Find the rule with
stress placement and suffixes.
