1. Prepared
2. Prompt
3. Honest, polite, positive and respectful to everyone
4. Recognized by the teacher before speaking
5. Using their agenda to neatly record assignments. If there happens to be no homework,

2. R.O.A.R. card
3. A positive referral and/or a
positive phone call/email home
4. Student of the Week and/or

Citizenship grades will be based on attendance, participation, honesty, attitude and

preparedness. Any type of behavior that interferes with the learning process will result in a
warning and/or a lowering of the students citizenship and/or academic grade.
Academic dishonesty is taken very seriously and will be dealt with in accordance to the
consequences stated in Luisenos expectations and exclusions list.
Tardies are unacceptable and will be dealt with in accordance to Luisenos Tardy Policy.

In the classroom students will learn how to
communicate effectively and think critically. As such,
the READ 180 program will help students build
essential literacy skills, raise their reading
proficiency, apply reading and writing strategies to
other subjects, and show students that they can
attain reading success. Students will also refine
writing for various audiences and purposes will be
encouraged. Students will read novels, poems and
stories; work on projects, read and write essays,
refine language skills through grammar and
vocabulary exercises; and respond to various
literature-related topics.

Homework
Homework can be assigned Monday-Thursday, with an
occasional weekend assignment. Parents, please
assist your student and monitor homework progress.
Every day, students are required to copy the daily
homework assignment and the goal/objective in their
agenda. Not a day goes by without the homework and
daily goal/objective being posted.
All work must be completed and turned in on time. Any
time an assignment is not completed missing
assignments will appear on Jupiter grades under the
relevant assignment. Please be aware that each MA is
a zero in the grade book until it is turned in to me. The
only time you may turn in late work is the Monday
after the original due date, Clean Sweep Monday!
In the case of absences from school, arrangements
must be made with the teacher for an acceptable turnin date for missed work. Students are always
responsible for missed assignments due to absences.
It is the students responsibility to inquire about
missed work and to make it up in a timely matter.
