Preprocessor>Real Constants>Add/Edit..>Give Thickness (5mm)
Preprocessor>Material models>Material properties>Structural>Linear>Elastic>
Isotrop (E=200000MPa, v=0.3)

Preprocessor>Meshing>SizeContr>Manual size>Areas>All areas (give Elem size 2mm)


Preprocessor>Meshing>Mesh>Areas>Free>Pick two areas and OK.

Open Contact Manager Windows from utility menu

Preprocessor> Contact Manager


Preprocessor> Contact Manager> Click Contact Wizard
A contact pair consists of a target surface and contact surface. You will first define the target
surface.
Preprocessor> Contact Manager>Click Contact Wizard>Click Target Surface (Areas)
and Flexible Target Type>Pick Target (Area or areas)>Next
The contact surface moves into the target surface.
>Click Contact surface (areas) and Contact element type (surface-to-surface),
than Click Pick contact(area or areas) apply than
The contact pair is now ready to be created using the following settings:
>Click Create>Flip Target or Contact normals>Finish

Preprocessor>Element Type>Add/Edit..>See Target and Contact Element types which are


selected by Contact Manager >CONTA174>Options> Choose K2 Penalty Method, K7
Reasonable T/L inc, K11 Include and K12 Bonded (always) OK.
Preprocessor>Real Constants>Add/Edit..>CONTA174>Type FKN (200000) OK.

SOLUTION PHASE
Solution>Analysis type>New analysis>Static
Select solution>Analysis Type>Soln Control
