The Maritime Museum and Lighthouse

Written by Odette, Daniel, Pearl and Ciara
Port Adelaide has many different attractions to visit, but the best of all is The Maritime
Museum. The Maritime Museum was built more than 20 years ago and was opened in
1991. The Museum has many interactive activities where you can learn about historic
times.
The Maritime Museum has 3 different levels, each of which is filled with exciting,
interesting activities and information. The bottom level has been built to resemble cabin
living areas through different times in history. Have a fun filled journey as you maneuver
through the level, looking at food rations and tools they would have had.
The ground level holds a humungous ship, which you can climb your way through. Have
a look in the captains cabin or descend down into the cargo storage. Peer into tiny
kitchens and stare at unique figureheads spread
across the walls.
The top level of the building holds lots of
interactive activities which you and your
friends and family will all enjoy.
Once you have looked around the
Museum, steer yourself down to the
lighthouse. Wind up the stairs and gaze
out of windows as you rise higher and
higher. When you reach the top, take in
the magnificent views of Port Adelaide.
Port Adelaide has lots of entertaining
educational exhibits, were shore youll
have an amazing time.
