Several years. Andrea was very understanding when | told her it had been awhile in doing trachea care. She instructed me through the set up for procedure and then talked me through giving the are. Andrea was calm and instructions were clear during the procedure. Now | am more confident when care for a resident with a trachea care, Lorraine Ash LPN ‘Andrea, How | felt while being instructed by you: You have a wonderful way of making people feel relaxed around you. You are open to questions, smile, and have a friendly demeanor, You are also willing to demonstrate first, and let the person you are instructing follow the demonstration by trying it themselves. After the task is complete, for example with suctioning a trach, you ask them if they feel comfortable or if they want to watch you do it again, So over all, lfelt comfortable and relaxed. This is very important when doing this kind of procedure since itis necessary to do a sterile field. if someone is nervous not only does it make it harder for them to remember how to do it by themselves later, but it could cause them to contaminate the sterile field. Thanks for all your instructions and help you have given me in the past. I'm going to really hate to see you leave here someday, @ ‘Angela Anderson LPN NOC M3N a, - . ree fete atease when you were doing my peri-care audit. Even at the areas where I wasn't sure of myself, you explained kindly. {never felt uncomfortable or worst. stupid, When | made my med error, ou instructed me by showing me how to avold more errors. ou made sue the cfference between me making 2 mistake or not knowing the Policy. You asked questions to get to the bottom of it. Another thing that feel is important to me is; when I was having trouble adapting tothe unit. Iwas at a point where | was so frustrated and wanted to bid off quicky. You listened and gave advance. That is something they don’t teach at school. (Right?) When you give us instructions at night, your team listens and follow it; mostly. Even if we don’t always agree, we respect your instructions. You have shown your leadership by giving us instructions on how to approach a task, keeping to unit organized, or when all heck breaks loose. Believe me, when you are not here for a few days; your absence is felt. Finally, there are times when I ask you for instructions. Sometimes you give me an answer and other times you don’t know; but you always go and find out. P.S. V hope this helps you and good luck. Jose B. LPN
