PAP GEOMETRY
Welcome to Geometry! The main goal of this course is designed to emphasize the study of the
properties and applications of common geometric figures in two and three dimensions. It
includes the study of transformations and right triangle trigonometry. Inductive and deductive
thinking skills are used in problem solving situations, and applications to the real world are
stressed. It also emphasizes writing proofs to solve (prove) properties of geometric figures.
I want you to learn and be successful in Geometry. If you do what is asked of you, and apply
yourself, I am certain that this is an attainable goal. Listed below are the grading guidelines
that will be used to calculate your grade.

I do expect you to keep a notebook for your Geometry class. It should be a three ringed binder. And it
should include 3 dividers. The tabs for the dividers will be as follows: Notes, Classwork/Homework,
Quizzes/Tests.

Your notebooks should have only material from MY class. They will be graded at least once per grading
period. When I grade your notebook, it may or may not be announced. If you do not have your
notebook (with you, in class) at the time they are being graded, then you will receive a zero. NO
EXCEPTIONS. Therefore, it would be in your best interest to bring your Geometry notebook to class
every time we meet.
Each student is also required to have a composition notebook for my class. Not having one WILL affect
your grade negatively.
We must work together as a class to ensure a safe and harmonious learning environment without
unnecessary distractions. In order to achieve this, I expect you to adhere to all rules and guidelines in
your student handbook at all times. (dresscode, use of media devices, tardies etc.) I will enforce the
policies set forth by Chapin administration using the disciplinary actions discussed in your student
handbook. In addition to the campus rules, I also have a set of classroom expectations and disciplinary
actions specific to my classroom.
