WHAT'S WRONG WITH CAPITALISM

Who here is against capitalism? Why? Why not?

Where does inequality come from?
- Divide in society not blue collar/white collar, high/paid, low/paid, West vs developing countries
but who owns the MOP and controls all of the wealth
- Capitalism is a class divided society between bosses and workers. Workers do all the labour
(everything around us created by us) but we don't control that wealth. Bosses profit from our
labour (not paying us the full value of what we create) and do NO work/contribute nothing, yet
have power because of ownership of MOP
- Competition is the driving force of production, things are produced to be sold for a profit as
commodities on a market, not to meet human need
We argue society is a dictatorship of the rich.
- Do you agree/disagree?
- Is there any genuine democracy in capitalism?
Can society be reformed to be better/nicer?
- What if we just had better representatives win a majority in parliament, socialists?
- Govts take office but they don't take power
- Exploitation can't just be legislated away
- So we need a revolution, but also socialists are the best fighters for reforms in the here and now.
We need to let people know that we can answer their questions, but for the first week things to
avoid or not dwell on are human nature, what's socialism (that's for a later discussion but just
foreshadow opposite of capitalism, workers control product of our labour)
Don't let the more right wing args dominate or set the terrain, for ex are workers too bought off,
right wing?
