A good review center program should be viewed by the students as a
wise investment in passing the Civil Engineering Board
Examinations. CE students/graduates must pay for the skills and
knowledge of licensed civil engineer lecturers who have a special
study of the CE licensure examination types and contents as
prescribed by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).

By means of lectures, techniques and demos, lecturers/reviewers

pass their wisdom along to reviewees. The ability of a review center
to increase the reviewees chances of success depends on the
review centers program. Review centers aid and assist students for
better chances of passing the licensure exams. Usually, this kind of
review method will only be effective if the student/reviewee will do
his/her part.

1. BESAVILLA REVIEW CENTER

Commonly Called: Besa

Besavilla Review Center, formerly called Besavilla Engineering
Review Center was the oldest review center (32 years) for civil
engineering up to now. It was founded by Engr. Venancio I. Besavilla,
Jr. at Cebu City on 1980 and expanded its operations in Manila and
other key cities in the country (Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, General
Santos City and Davao)
Features/Services:
Review Program: 270 + hours of intensive lectures where basic
engineering principles and theories are discussed, along with
samples to recent board problems, simplified so that reviewees are
able to cope with present type of licensure problems.
Refresher Program: 144 + hours of problem solving to familiarize
reviewees in different approaches to solve problems based on recent
board exams and problems involving the latest topics introduced by
the PRC.
There is a pre-board examination wherein reviewees are required to
take, patterned after the actual licensure examination, to better
prepare students in taking the actual licensure exams.

In 1997, Engr. Perfecto B. Padilla, Jr. saw the need for a center that
will provide CE graduates an honest to goodness review. He saw the
need of the Academe and the Industry for one that will unleash the
hidden abilities of graduates and hone them to perfection. That gave
birth to Padilla Review Center (now Success Review).
It has branches in Manila, Cebu, Baguio and Davao. Engr. Padilla
himself is teaching most of the subjects. Understanding of subject
matter was made simplest by Engr. Padillas unconventional and

ENGINEERING REVIEW &

Commonly Called: Gillesania/GERTC

Engr. Diego Inocencio T. Gillesania, was the author of various
engineering books, a 3rd placer in the CE Board Exams last
November 1989 and the Review Director and reviewer in all subjects
at GERTC. Engr. Gillesania was a former review lecturer of Besavilla
Engineering Review Center in Cebu on 1991 and on 1996 he
separated from Besavilla and founded his own review center on
1997.
Gillesania Engineering Review and Training Center was the only online review school in the Philippines offering reviews and freshener
classes for the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination given by the
Professional Regulations Commission.

4. POLARIS REVIEW CENTER

Commonly called: Polaris

POLARIS REVIEW CENTER, the biggest review center in the island
province of Palawan offers review classes in Civil Engineering. It was
founded on March 22, 2002 by Engr. Cesar C. Javarez, founder and
director of Polaris Review Center of having the vision of creating a
center of excellence in developing the educational potentials of
graduate students in their pursuit for professional advancement and
self-fulfillment in their chosen careers.
His decision in 2002 to establish a review center in Palawan was
driven by a passion to address reviewees problem cost of taking a
review class particularly, the cost of stay in Manila while taking the

By establishing the Polaris Review Center in Puerto Princesa City,

Experts CE Review Center was renamed Semana CE Review Center
on October 2013 and founded by former Experts CE Review Center
founders Engr. Roma Semana and Engr. Garry Alviento and is
presently known as Xpertz Center for Professional Career

History:

6. REVIEW INNOVATIONS, INC.

In September 2005, after handling review classes at Besavilla
Engineering Review Center Manila for two decades, Engineers
Wilfredo Y. Andales, Jose Alfredo Escoto, Jr., Ananias C. Gloria, Jr.,
Ramon Guevara and Ariel P. Santos decided to form a review center
that will be more responsive to the students needs. Armed with a full
grasp of the intricacies of the trade, they envisioned a center that will
truly address the students problems and inadequacies.

2011 by Engr. Dindo F. Esplana, May 2001 CE Board First Placer of
Mapua Institute of Technology, a former lecturer of Experts Review

the Tatualla Family. They started in reviewing and inspiring Nursing
graduates for the licensure exams. Proven to be successful in

Engineers in the family, Engr. Sarah Marie Tatualla Dichoso
(oftentimes called as Engr. Lala) was appointed as the Program
Director for CE Review. She is an alumna of Mapua Institute of

It was year 2009, I was still jobless, with no job prospect and very
little money left. I resigned from a teaching job in Saudi Aramco,
Saudi Arabia. I was still then recovering from a bout of depression
caused by what happened from my best friends from UE as well as
my bad experience from my job out there in Saudi Arabia.
During this time, I am very grateful to Dr. Amelia Marquez (President
of Megareview) who helped me recover. In this period, I shifted my
energy to conceptualizing the idea of Calculator Techniques; I
integrated my work in my review classes and did extensive research
on how the Calculator can be utilized in its optimum use. A lot of
ideas I wrote from my books were taken from my special classes
MATH ENHANCEMENT being offered by my previous employer.
Two of my students, Eric and Edison volunteered to design the
CALCULATOR Keys. I extended Calculator Techniques to Math,
Mechanics, Engineering Economy, Design and Construction, Fluid
Mechanics, Hydraulics and Numerical Methods. They got
excellent feedbacks, from teachers, students and my colleagues. My
first book Calculator Techniques sold already more than five
thousand copies from its 1st printing in year 2011. During my critical
times, My best friend and my adopted son by principle Mico Algaba
had stayed with me with the selling, promotion and distribution of the
books. A lot of people had laugh at my work then, but now they are
already imitating my work in their lectures, reading materials
and even in their promotion. After some time, the wheel of fortune

revolved favorably for my favorite teacher Engineer Adelia Rocamora

(who happens to be the Vice President of a big time Transportation
Company) who showed extreme grit, strength and determination
despite the odds that finally she won the case against a titan UE. My
friends Engineer Veronica Masangkay, now a big time Project
Manager of TCGI and Engineer Gertrudo Regondola (a proud faculty
of Ateneo De Naga University) is expected to reap the same benefits.
Today I am a regular faculty of my beloved school, NATIONAL
UNIVERSITY (THE HOME OF THE CHAMPIONS) and is expected
to dominate also the academics in the coming years). It simply
proved that you cannot put good men and women down.
I thank the Lord for everything that happened.
Today Calculator Techniques will be one of the major selling point of
the Newly Established Civil Engineering Review School, Tolentino
