On Hiring the right people

Screen and look for the following people:
a. Has content and method
b. Has content
c. Has method
2. On training the right people (Faculty development plan)
a. Train equally in both areas if possible but train in priority right
methodology
b. Train the knowledgeable but lacks method in teaching methodology
c. Train the great teachers and help them acquire more knowledge
3. On teaching methodology
a. Quality of delivery plays a big role in teaching
b. Teach students to disprove, to question, to disagree. This is the complete
opposite of spoon feeding
c. Find innovation in teaching. You will be recognized not because of the
knowledge you imparted but how you imparted the knowledge.
d. To innovate means to find what works with your student. Innovation is a
case to case basis.
