This course trains students to conceptualize and design artistic interpretations and create functional scenery, properties,
lighting and sound for events and informal or formal theatrical productions. Students gain hands-on experience by
demonstrating their skills in front of an audience at local school and/or community events. Students learn the basic
physical properties in the technical aspects of theatre such as light, color, electricity, and sound. They also safely
construct sets and effectively operate a variety of production equipment. Students also effectively design and operate
lighting, sound and rigging related to production goals.
