Statement of Inquiry
Thinking Maps can help us organize our ideas, concepts, and research making visual their various interrelationships.
Introduction
Information computer technology and many other innovative technologies can empower us to activate and lead innovative change on a local and
global setting. There are many interconnected civil, social, human rights, animal rights, and environmental issues / causes which are related to
globalization and the sustainable survival of human civilization on Earth.
Students, this semester, will take on the role of technologically-empowered social, civil, human rights, animal rights, and/or environmental activists
addressing the problems, challenges, and solutions for issues facing humanity.
We will use information computer technology to become leaders who empower others with the knowledge, inspiration, and vision necessary to
activate and lead movements to a local and global audience that powerfully address social, civil, human rights, animal rights, or environmental
issues and challenges.
This semester, we will
1. Locate, organize, analyze, apply, evaluate and ethically use information from a variety of online sources and media.
2. Use digital tools to manage activities in the development and completion of 3 digital research summative project tasks.
3. Utilize a "technology design process journal" to engage in Advocating Change problem, challenge, and solution related inquiries working
towards the creation of our summative project tasks.
4. Think critically and advanced or proficiently articulate through our summative project tasks one particular civil, social, human rights, animal
rights, or environmental issue, its various causes, and create our 3 summative project tasks to Advocate Change to solve it.
5. Digitally present work through 3 summative project tasks: a Thinking Map, a PowerPoint Presentation, and a Persuasive Essay written in
MS Word.
The innovative designs that we incorporate into our digital projects can help us to change peoples perspectives, activate our own leadership, and
inspire people into actions which address these pressing local and global issues of today.
