Cannot Set Serial Number After Replacement

Of Main Board
Problem:
Cannot set serial number after replacement of main board
Cause:
No instructions in service manual

To use tool 1. Create a folder c:\ 3450_serialno


2. Open the attached zip file SerialNumber.zip
3. Click View File, then select the file SerialNousb.exe, and click Extract.
4. Browse to C:\3450_serialno
5. Extract the SerialNousb.exe file to c:\ 3450_serialno
6. Connect printer to PC/Laptop via USB cable. *NOTE* The PC/laptop must have the printer
driver installed in order for the tool to operate correctly. The driver can be downloaded from
xerox.com.
7. Open DOS prompt window, go to start menu, select run, type 'cmd' and press return.
8. In DOS prompt window, use the cd command to navigate to C:\3450_serialno, then press
return.
9. Type serialnousb, a space, serial number (example: serialnousb abc123456)
10. NOTE - the program will say that there was a read fail but the serial number should be
changed
11. Reboot machine.
12. Verify the serial number has changed by looking at CWIS or configuration page
