DEBATE PAPER

FOR
PRO-EUTHANASIA

Euthanasia? It is your choice that makes life as a pro- Euthanasia, it should

be allowed considering those people who are terminally ill and continuously
suffering. For example, a patient had been diagnosed with cancer chose
Euthanasia as a way to alleviate his/ her suffering knowing that prolonging
the period of time contributes to the pain being experienced by the patient.
Euthanasia is a noble deed reflecting that you are saving them actually from
further agony and since these patients dont accept supplementary need for
their lives believing that their time is ticking to the last second. But before
doing so, you as the nurse and the patient must have agreed to this matter.
Why not end up already the suffering for these terminally ill patients or
elderly, seeing them die with dignity because Euthanasia hasten it rather
than delaying the death which will further make the pain more dreadful? No
human right is violated when exercising Euthanasia because the patient had
accepted and embrace death as a part of the treatment for his/ her
suffering. Also, you allow the family to grieve effectively, reducing their
anxiety when employing euthanasia since they wont expect further and
would not think about the future outcomes for the dying family member. It
is said that relieving a patient from their pain and suffering by performing
euthanasia will do more good than harm. Advocates of euthanasia express
the view that the fundamental moral values of society, compassion and

mercy, require that no patient be allowed to suffer unbearably, and mercy

killing should be permissible (Ebrahimi, 2012)
