Dear St Paul’s Resident

I’m writing to you today as your opinion matters to us and we want to reassure you of some positive
changes we have made at the Coral Shop.

We have had some feedback from local residents about our Coral betting shop at Unit 3, Ashley Court.
The main theme of the feedback was around some negative customer behaviour, in particular drug use
and alcohol. We take all feedback very seriously, especially when it involves the safety and security of our
customers and our shop teams. As such, we have listened to these views and have introduced some new
measures and changes at the shop.

• We have introduced a security presence on the door, and this will ensure that access is available only
to those who are 18 years of age and older;

• We will ask anyone who appears to be under the age of 21 for i/d to prove that they are over the
age of 18;

• We will be excluding anyone who is smoking or who has alcohol on their person;

• We will also be excluding any person who is deemed unfit due to the effects of alcohol or drugs and
will exclude anyone whom we believe may have the intention of dealing drugs on the premises.

Coral is proud to be part of the community in St Paul’s, and we will continue to work with you, your fellow
residents, Bristol City Council and the Police to ensure that our betting shop provides a safe and enjoyable
environment for all of our customers.

Chief Inspector Catherine Johnstone says “I am delighted that the Gala Coral Group is taking personal
responsibility to improve the security and environment within their shop at Ashley Court, St Paul’s.
