Reimbursement Using Employee


Self-Service (ESS)

Employees enter their tuition reimbursement


requests via ESS (SAPweb) after they have
successfully completed a course that is eligible
for reimbursement at

Plan year is the calendar year (January 1December 31)
Annual dollar amount is pro-rated for part-time
employees

All grade reports, including printouts of Web


grades, must contain the students name.

Reimbursement Check Process

Employees can check the status of a


tuition reimbursement request by logging
on to their Tuition Assistance Account at
http://web.mit.edu/sapwebss/

The checks are separate from payroll and


are mailed to employees office address.

MIT Special Student Courses

Eligible employees may apply to take a course


at MIT as a Special Student (a non-degree
candidate).
The document Procedure for Taking a Course
at MIT as a Special Student is on our Benefits
Web site.

The Tuition Assistance Loan

The Tuition Assistance Loan is administered by


the MIT Federal Credit Union and not by HR.
Employees must provide the Credit Union with
proof that they are participating in an
employer-sponsored tuition reimbursement
program: Use TA Connect and print the results.
