The project in this term in math is we have to make a design that
promotes, influence and persuade reading habit as a powerful tool in life.
As an agent of change we should be abler to apply geometric shapes and
math skill in making the design. We should be able to explain how
geometric hales can be a powerful tool to influence readers in reading
more books.
Transformation is a process by which one figure, expression, or
function is converted into another one of similar value. There are 4 types
of transformation that is translation, reflection, rotation and dilation.
Translation is a movement of a body from one point of space to another
such that every point of the body moves in the same direction and over the
same distance, without any rotation, reflection, or change in size.
Reflection is the conceptual operation of inverting a system or event with
respect to a plane, each element being transferred perpendicularly
through the plane to a point the same distance the other side of it.
Rotation is the conceptual operation of turning a system about an axis.
And dilation is make or become wider, larger, or more open.
In this design the geometric concept that I apply is from shapes, I
apply isosceles triangle in making the sun and lights and as a pattern in
the gate. For equilateral triangle I applied it for the light between the gates,
and then I apply kite in the making of small stars that was shaped like a

kite, and then I applied rectangles for making the streets and the stand for
the books, and lastly I applied squares for making the zebra cross in the
street also for the heart of the light.
Also in this design beside from shapes I also applied four different
transformation, first I applied translation in the zebra cross and the sun,
then I applied rotation for making the sun with the triangles that I rotate to
make circles, and then reflection is the transformation that I apply mostly
on this design but the most special one is in the reflecting book shelf. and
the last transformation is dilation, for this transformation I only applied this
once for the zebra cross which I only applied big and small squares. Lastly
for lines I applied intersecting lines in making the X pet tern, and a then
parallel lines in making the rectangles and perpendicular line.
My design can visualise and shows that by books and through
reading use the gate and light of life. For example, by reading it is a start
for a brighter future. Me as an agent of change and a designer that works
for this design is very sure that my design can help people to influence
their reading skill, why? Because my design look clear and interesting.
