2. The article that I came across on CNN talks about the privacy regarding
company based phones. The article speaks on the reality that these phones are not
always private whether that is intentionally or unintentionally. The article states that an
employer can wipe your phone of data without your consent. Your online searches can
be seen via hidden software and your personal email may become exposed.

Keywords: Workplace, Privacy,

Database: Proquest
Choice: This database stated that it was used for general purposes and had
various of articles and newspapers that I thought would be useful to my topic.
6. The two articles I will be comparing is the Internet article titled Employee Privacy- What can
Employers monitor and the Journal article titled Workplace privacy Policy. As for the ease of
access, both articles do a great job with how the information is laid out. The internet article
starts by laying out how much privacy you have with each device or system you may have to
encounter with at work. The article then goes on to use examples of court cases that reference
how different laws work within different companies. The author then points to specific laws
regarding privacy and ends her article with her overall opinion on the topic. The journal article
goes into detail regarding how you can take the essential steps in avoiding any conflict
regarding privacy issues. Regarding the timeliness, The Internet article is dated October 04,
2011 and the Journal article is dated May/June 2002. Finally the authority. Although the author
of the Internet article ( Heather Bussing) may not seem to have authority to write this article, she
uses facts and information that can be backed up to support her article. As for the journal article
written by the the Ontario edu, there seems to be no bias. The article is just giving information
on how to create policies effectively.
